Are you having difficulty with controlling your own temper with ones you loved? Is your child having difficulty and having meltdowns or tantrums and you notice that you start to become frustrated and angry yourself?
No matter what age you are, dealing with big feelings is an ongoing practice that we have to work on throughout our lives. It is important that we not only notice our thoughts, but our bodies and signs that are telling us that we need to take a breather or some time to calm down before we can revisit a conversation.
In therapy, I enjoy working with people of all ages to help them figure out how they can recognize and identify their emotions in their own body. All emotions are important to notice, and once we are aware of them, we can work together to identify what you may be needing in those moments of anger, frustration, sadness, or excitement. While I enjoy working with people of all ages, I particularly enjoy working with children and their parents, utilizing a combination of play therapy and Positive Discipline to help families navigate angry outbursts or meltdowns.

Play Therapy
Play is the language of children. When working with children and teens, it is important for me to find therapy interventions that meet children where they are at and provide therapy in a way they can connect to. In my practice, I utilize Child-Centered Play Therapy, creative and artistic interventions, and directive play therapy interventions.
Positive Discipline
When I work with a child, I work with the whole family. It is important that you as a parent feel confident in navigating the specific needs of your child. As a Certified Positive Discipline educator, we will collaborate about your child’s therapy to give you the skills to raise responsible, compassionate children through parenting that is kind and firm.
